The Voice Kids: 13-year-old Jessica wows the coaches with Queen cover

The Voice Kids UK got underway tonight on ITV with a massive performance from Jessica.

13-year-old Jessica from Essex performed Somebody To Love by Queen.

She was the very first act out on the brand new series, which is open to contestants aged 7 – 14.

Just like the main show, the Voice Kids begins with the blind auditions as the youngsters perform to the backs of coaches Pixie Lott, Danny Jones and Will.i.am in a bid to win a spot on their teams.

Jessica nailed her performance and got all three coaches turning by the end of her song.

Will.i.am quipped: “I think the police are on the way now because you just killed it.”

Pixie Lott added: “I’m like speechless at how good that was. I just want to remind I turned around right at the beginning, I already knew at the start how incredible you are. I would absolutely love you on my team.”

And Danny Jones praised: “You just then gave everyone in the room completely escapism and made everyone’s life’s better for a minute and a half.

“You have a fantastic voice but your performance is amazing too and I can help become an artist.”

With all coaches to pick from it was up to Jessica to decide which team to join, becoming the first member of Team Danny.

We’ll next see Jessica in the battle rounds.

The Voice Kids blind auditions continue Saturday nights on ITV.
