There’s a bust up on Love Island 2017 tonight between Amber Davies, Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes
It began when Amber told Kem about a conversation she had shared with Chris the night before, straight after the re-coupling: “So I was going to tell you. Basically last night, I went up to him and said ‘you’ve done so well, well done, you’ve earned it. And he looked at me and he went ‘you know what I’m saying, I’m here.’ He was looking so deep into my eyes.”
This news instantly rattled Kem, who immediately marched back into the villa to confront a confused Chris.
However Chris denied the chat had ever taken place: “Hang on, I never said that. Mate, she’s trying to keep you on your toes. I haven’t even spoken to her. Ask her when I said that? Why would she say that?
“Honestly go and grab her. I want her to tell me the exact spot. I’ve not said that. If I’d said that, I’d tell you I said that. She’s said that to stir it.”
In the Beach Hut, Chris complained: “Amber’s using me because I’m the only person in this villa that she can use to get to Kem. She can’t use any of the other lads because it wouldn’t be believable. She’s just literally stirring. It’s wound me up.”
Kem went back to Amber, who denied Chris’ denial.
She confronted Chris and told him: “It wasn’t even a big thing. I gave you a hug, Jonny was there and you just went ‘you know what I’m saying, I’m here.’ You did say that. You did say that. You said ‘I’m here.’ I have not got an issue with you at all. I don’t want you and me to have beef, it was just a passing comment.”
The damage was done though and Chris wasn’t about to back down:“I can’t even remember me saying anything like that. I am angry because you clearly would have known that’s not the case. I don’t even think I even said that. Were you just trying to wind (Kem) up?”
Speaking to Kem again, Chris was convinced he was merely a pawn in a game Amber was playing: “Do you know why I’m bothered? It’s like she’s literally tried to wind you up for no reason. She’s used me to do it when she can’t use Sam, she can’t use Dom, she can’t use Marcel, she can’t use Jonny.”
Tensions in the villa later increased when a fuming Chris filled Chloe and Montana in on his encounter with Amber, unintentionally insulting Chloe in the process.
He said: “I said ‘I’m waiting for a brunette to come in.’ I don’t know why I said that, but just forget that. This is why this thing escalated. I walked away and two minutes later, she made out I was coming onto her. ”
Chris’ current – and very blonde – partner Chloe reacted: “You have to understand how muggy it looks on me. That makes me look so stupid.”
Love Island 2017 airs tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
