The Cutkelvins impress on The X Factor 2017 tonight as auditions continue.
Made up of Jay (24), Shereen (20) and Kay (23) Cutkelvin, The Cutkelvins are brothers and sister from Lanark, Scotland.
“We’ve come from a big family of six kids. Our dad was a singer so he’s our main influence,” the trio explain.
Shereen may be a familiar face to some, having previously been a part of girl group Neon Jungle.
The four piece enjoyed success in 2014 with two top ten singles and a top 10 album before splitting in 2015.
“We decided to do our own thing,” says Shereen of leaving the group. “What’s difference with this band is we’re bothers and sisters. We have that instant connection right there anyway.
“This is actually the first year we’ve been singing as a three piece,” the group go on to reveal, “Fingers crossed it goes well!”
Chatting to the judges, the trio admit to fighting with Shereen quipping: “I win!”
When it comes to their actual audition, The Cutkelvins sing Beyonce’s Runnin’ (Lose It All) feat. Naughty Boy.
“I just love everything about this group,” raves Louis Walsh.
Sharon Osbourne then singles out Shereen and her “incredible voice”, remarking: “You’re probably not going to like what I say, but you should be more up front than the guys… you should be the main thing.”
Nicole Scherzinger agrees: “I’m kind of in love with you, Shereen, I can’t take my eyes off of you.”
Will The Cutkelvins make the next round together?
Tune in to The X Factor tonight to find out and watch their audition.
Other acts on tonight’s show include Bukky Shitu who gets flirty with Simon and Harrison Styles whose name requires a double take.
We also meet a number of contestants who have flown in from afar: There’s boyband trio JBK from the Philippines, Elysa from Australia and Deanna from Anguilla, a British colony in the Caribbean.
The X Factor 2017 airs tonight at 8PM on ITV.
