The Voice Kids UK started tonight on ITV with 10-year-old rapper Lil’ T shutting it down.
10-year-old Lil’ T from Leicester performed Shutdown by Skepta as the blind auditions kicked off.
He was one of the first few acts out on the brand new series, which is open to contestants aged 7 – 14.
Just like the main show, the Voice Kids begins with the blind auditions as the youngsters perform to the backs of coaches Pixie Lott, Danny Jones and Will.i.am in a bid to win a spot on their teams.
Lil’ T’s performance immediately had Will.i.am pressing his buzzer within seconds.
The Black Eyed Peas star then joined the youngster on stage to dance, before Pixie and Danny both pressed their buzzers as well.
Following the performance, and after all of Danny, Will and Pixie made their pitches to Lil’ T, he had to decide which coach to team up with.
And it didn’t come as much surprise when he chose to work with Will.i.am.
We’ll next see Lil’ T in the battle rounds, where the contestants in each team will take part in a three way sing off in a bid to make the semi-finals.
Other acts on tonight’s first blind audition show included 13-year-old Jessica from Essex who performed Somebody To Love by Queen. and 8-year-old Leah from Surrey who sang Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid.
The Voice Kids blind auditions continue Saturday nights on ITV.
