Iain Lee proved he is capable of doing Bushtucker Trials on I’m A Celebrity 2017 after teaming up with Jennie McAlpine to bring six meals back from the Deadly Departure Lounge.
Last night’s episode of the ITV jungle show saw Dennis Wise object to Iain facing another Trial, after he quit two previous challenges.
However, the footballer relented and saw Iain and Jennie off after they were picked for latest food challenge yesterday.
“Promise me you won’t say those words,” said Dennis, referring to the show’s signature ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ catchphrase.
“I won’t say those words,” vowed Iain.
Once Dennis was out of earshot, Jennie joked: “Don’t listen to that, I might!”
“Would you? That might get me out of a really tricky situation,” laughed Iain.
The duo soon arrived at the Deadly Departure Lounge, where two rows of ten boxes had been set up, each containing a Dingo Dollar.
Working along one row each, Iain and Jennie had to put their heads in the boxes and unscrew the Dingo Dollars using only their mouths.
It was an all-or-nothing Trial, meaning each player who completed their entire row would win three meals for camp.
The players quickly worked through the first four boxes, which also contained fish guts, flies, meal worms, crickets and cockroaches.
Having spotted frogs in the fifth box, Iain asked: “Are these the ones that are psychedelic if you lick them?”
“Concentrate on the dollar, don’t go licking the frogs,” smirked Dec.
The sixth boxes featured crabs, one of which got in Iain’s way, forcing him to wait for it to move.
After chambers containing spiders and crocodiles, the pair finally made it to their final boxes, filled with snakes.
Again, one of the creatures got in Iain’s way, but he and Jennie both eventually released all their Dollars.
Iain was elated as he and Jennie returned to camp with all six meals that were up for grabs.
“For my own self confidence, I needed to get a full house and I did my part of the bargain,” he said.
Giving his partner a hug, he added: “I was teamed up with Jennie, who was brilliant, and I’ve had the best time.”
In the Bush Telegraph, Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo commented: “The people that might not be strong always come out on top.
“I hope this will bridge the little gap that’s formed.”
I’m A Celebrity continues tomorrow at 9.00pm on ITV.
