Dancing On Ice 2018: Lemar injured ahead of his first live performance

Lemar faces an uphill struggle on Dancing On Ice at the weekend.

The singer was a late addition to the line up, replacing cricketer Monty Panesar who was forced out of the show due to an injury in training.
Already behind the rest of the celebs, Lemar now faces a further setback after being left injured ahead of Sunday night.
“I just went for a little bit of a wander and I went down a bit hard,” Lemar revealed this week. “My left knee needed some attention. It is strapped up still. I will have to wear the straps underneath on the actual night.
“The groin is the main thing – it hurts. I don’t know how these dancers do it. It is quite painful.”

He told The Sun newspaper: “I hope I won’t be told that I can’t perform. We have put in quite a few hours so we definitely want to do it.
“I’m hoping it’s nothing a small overdose of painkillers won’t solve.”
Lemar previously said he’s been working hard to catch up with the other celebs after his later start to training.

He told The Sun: “I do feel like I’m behind yes, but I’m working hard to catch up.
“I never feel like I’m really making that much progress.
“My partner [Melody Le Moal] tells me ‘Oh you’re better today than three days ago’ but as soon as you’ve learned something or almost learned something they put something else in.”
Celebrities joining Lemar on the Dancing On Ice 2018 cast include Love Island’s Kem, Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent, Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker, Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown and X Factor singer Jake Quickenden.
As well as viewers, they’ll be performing for a new look ice panel made up of former coaches Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, returning judge Jason Gardiner and new face, Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo.

Candice Brown was bottom of the first six skaters who danced last Sunday night.
She’ll be in the skate off against whoever ranks bottom of the remaining six celebrities who perform this weekend.
Dancing On Ice 2018 continues on Sunday, January 14 at 6PM.
